A Little Bamboletta Miracle

In the last post, I talked about what was going on, and how everything has very suddenly changed. It’s going to take time to work everything out. But I don’t want to linger on sadness and regret. I want the next few days, or however long I’m away, to be about something happy.

Yesterday afternoon, we received a package. A very, very special package, from Bamboletta. Bamboletta is a team of wonderful moms in Canada, who sew dolls that are made to last generations. The dolls are made from 100% natural materials, and have amazing detail and personality. We had heard of Bamboletta back in 2011, and for years, it’s been a goal of ours to bring home a Bamboletta doll. The time has finally arrived, though in a way none of us imagined.

This very special doll is named Ruby. She’s a Little Buddy Bamboletta, made with tons of love. Ruby has traveled far, and is about to embark on a trip around the world.

Ruby is a present for Grandma. She’s meant to be her little guardian angel. That’s why it’s so important that Ruby arrived when she did, and that she comes with us when we travel. From the moment we saw Ruby, Mom and I knew she was perfect for Grandma. There are so many things I could say about how much they match in personality, but right now I can’t, without this post dissolving into tears. Instead, know this: Ruby has a special purpose, and a very important destination. And we’re doing all we can to get her there.

The moment we arrive, Ruby will be given to Grandma. We want Grandma to know that she is loved, that we’re there for her. I remember Grandma teaching me how to chain stitch with my fingers when I was nine… where did those years go…

Someday soon, I’ll talk more about Ruby. But right now I have to finish packing and start the next chapter in our adventure… a very bittersweet one.

For purposes of company, some of the mini dolls are also coming, along with Debbie and Pippa. Who knows, Debbie’s Chronicles may end up being Ruby’s Chronicles. In any case, some of the dolls are going with us.

Now it’s time for me to go. I don’t think I’ll be able to post the next Monthly Recap… there’s an unbelievable amount of things to do. I’m sorry for all the sudden changes, and delays in posting that may occur henceforth.

Sometimes life brings in the unexpected. Sometimes we’re faced with a seemingly endless stretch of uncertainty. It’s in these moments that we find strength in ourselves, and those around us. And, most importantly, be thankful for what we do have, and who we love.

Until next time~
