At Crochet Buddies, we like to keep things simple and straightforward. That’s why we don’t retain any data more than absolutely necessary.*

Let’s start with the most important things:

— No selling of info to third parties
— No sharing of newsletter subscribers
— No up-sells or hidden costs
— No AI chatbots
— No ginormous team of technical support

* If you visit the Crochet Buddies website from a social media platform, each platform will have its own privacy policy.

Customer Privacy: Digital Downloads / Online Store

When you place an order for a crochet pattern or any digital download on CrochetBuddies.com, we only collect information necessary to fulfill the order and email you the pattern(s) and instructions, specifically:

— Name / Username
— Email address

That’s it! Pretty straightforward. 🙂

Please note: You can checkout as a guest, without having to create an account. The virtual account option is there if you’d like to create a virtual stash of patterns, for your own personal use. (Please read the Terms & Conditions for more info!)

If you decide to create a Crochet Buddies account, your account info is stored for purposes of Order History.

Please note that creating an account does not automatically make you a blog contributor. It is for customer purposes only.

Newsletter

When you post a comment, register as a forum member, or place an order, you’ll see an optional checkbox to subscribe to the Crochet Buddies Newsletter. Subscribing is optional and totally up to you — it is not automatic or required. We will never trick people into subscribing. And you can unsubscribe anytime.

Forum Membership

Joining the Forum is completely free of charge.

Before you join, please see the Forum Rules.

Becoming A Forum Member

When you sign up for a free membership on the Forum page, we only collect the following info to finish creating your Forum account:

— Name / Username (required)
— Email address (required)
— Any other info you choose to share (optional): website(s), social media profile(s), etc.

Logging in as both customer and forum member

If you have a Crochet Buddies account as a customer and later post on the Forum (or vice versa), then both accounts will be connected. For instance, if you use the same email address, your customer dashboard and forum dashboard will show both order history as well as your forum posts and replies. Other customers and forum members won’t see this info.

Deleting Membership

Maybe somewhere along the way, you change interests and decide crochet isn’t for you anymore. We understand. 🙂

If you decide to delete your Crochet Buddies account, all account data is automatically deleted from Crochet Buddies.

The good thing: We do not retain account info, so once it’s gone it’s gone.

The not-so-great thing: We do not retain account info, so once it’s gone it’s gone. Permanently.

This means any and all order history, forum activity, etc. is instantly removed. This can’t be recovered, so think carefully before doing so!

Becoming A Contributor

When you contribute to the Crochet Buddies Blog, certain info will be shown publicly, including:

— Author name (this can be different from username)
— Avatar (profile image)
— Author bio (if you choose to write one)
— Links to any website(s), social media profile(s), etc. that you choose to share.

Author / Contributor History

As a blogger and contributor, all posts written by you will appear under your profile.

This info remains out there for as long as the published posts are live on the Crochet Buddies website.

Your email is not visible, unless you choose to share it in published post(s).
