Chenoa has been asking me — very politely, but insistently — for new seasonal outfits, to keep her warm as the temperatures drop. So here’s what I made, for a start (back when the weather was still relatively warmer): a crochet short-sleeve dress, hat with a happy sunflower embellishment, and a long-sleeve cardigan, which I will share in the next post.
This is the third dress I’ve crocheted with this particular stitch for the skirt (can you guess what stitch it is? 😉 ).
It was a too windy to photograph Chenoa by the bridge, so I took photos around the garden instead. The lighting wasn’t ideal… but we both agreed it was better than risking her on the bridge without a doll stand.
Mom saw us from the kitchen, and waved. Chenoa waved back. “Do you like my dress?”
Chenoa has established herself as one of the gentler, more contemplative members of the Doll Family. She doesn’t say what’s on her mind, but learns about the world through observation.
Regarding the hat, I’m debating whether or not to add a brim. I’d designed it to be a winter beanie, but have to rework the pattern a bit so it’ll be long enough to cover Chenoa’s ears. A brim would be look great with this hat, though… ah well, I could always make one of each! 🙂
In the next post I’ll share her cardigan with the full outfit set. Stay tuned!
