Okay, so before I “officially” begin, I’d just like to say this: HAPPY WORLD DOLL DAY!!! TO ALL THE DOLLIES OUT THERE, YOU ROCK!!!
Ooh, and another thing… THERE IS A NEW CB STORE ITEM THAT IS COMING TO THE STORE VERY SOON. PEOPLE. SO THERE. IT MAY BE COMING ON MONDAY, OR TUESDAY, BUT IT WILL BE HERE! (Once the pattern is perfected, I think.)
Told ya I was excited, right? No? Ah well.
Yeah, so I’m really, and I mean REALLY, hyper this afternoon because, lo and behold, guess what decided to show up since yesterday? THE SUN. And also the hot weather, so… there’s a trade off. But it’s still cool! (Ironically cool, that is. Heh.)
Orchid and I were trying to figure out which AwtB photos to show you, which is where we had a slight disagreement… right now we have earlier pics of another outing into town, but on that day I didn’t get the chance to come out and pose for any of those photos, so Orchid said maybe postpone writing about that adventure and have the photos as a separate Weekly Wonder later on, or as a Blog post sometime next week. (‘Cause today’s adventure alone has so. many. images. blech. Enough for today’s and tomorrow’s posts, actually!)
Anyway! Now that that’s decided, we’ve gone ahead and gotten all of today’s photos ready, which are FRESH OFF THE CAMERA FROM ADVENTUR-ING. So! exaggerated throat clearing
Today’s adventure started this morning, when Orchid and her mom went for a walk to a Farmers’ Market….
Pretty cool, huh? There was even a band playing, or so I heard, but Orchid told me the video footage was too big to upload here. sadness She also says the layout of the tents and so on reminds her of some of the Arts Festivals she joined in previous years. Interesting. (I wasn’t around then, so I don’t know what it was like. Time to dig up some archives from Ye Olde Photo Album. 😉 )
It was way too hot for me to venture out then, so I chose to stay inside with the AC. When they got back, though, I was all ready for some nice summer outdoor breeze!
Oh, and I did muster up some super strength for a doll my size, and put together this smiley face while enjoying the cool indoors:
Talk about hyper energetic-ness. 😉
Fun fact: Did you know the word “muster” as a noun can mean a group of peacocks? That’s pretty neat.
Once we were all set, off we went, enjoying the sunshine….
Now this is where most of the photos come in. We found this really cool surface of jagged rocks. It was lining the driveway to some office, but from the look of it nobody was around. So we figured, why not do a photo shoot there! Huzzah!
Caoimhe’s been super nice about letting me borrow her ballet flats, which also work as cute golden sparklies for outings. Much to our surprise, the sparklies stayed on pretty well.
That stone pattern in the background almost seems to form a castle fortress design, doesn’t it? 🙂
As you may well have seen from the title, Orchid gave me a new hairstyle this morning! Tada, a fishtail braid!
It isn’t the smoothest, Orchid admits, but it did a good job of keeping all that hair away from my face. (So much for my Juliet hairstyle staying permanently… it got too messy anyway. 😛 )
We were trying to get some photos of my hairdo, but somehow or other I couldn’t stand up properly, and right at that moment a gigantic breeze came and knocked me over. Go figure. It finally worked out, though. (As an aside, it’s kind of weird how the camera angle makes the buttons on my dress seem so disproportionate, when in reality they’re not. Oh well!)
Hm, my hair looks particularly red in these photos. Not the same bright red as Caoimhe’s, but more of an auburn, I think? Orchid thinks so too.
Then we went around various sidewalks taking photos for lighting comparison. I didn’t have to do anything really, just look at the camera and daydream a bit. It would’ve been fun to have me waving at the camera/”audience” or whatnot, but I was too dreamy to even think of doing that. Heh.

Now, for those crocheters who have been eagerly awaiting SOMETHING related to crochet, Orchid told me to tell you this: She’ll be doing a crochet hook comparison this coming week, and also a yarn texture comparison type thing. She wouldn’t give me details, but it sounds pretty cool. So I’m guessing you’ll enjoy it! If you crochet, that is. Or if you don’t, stick around for more fun things to leave you intrigued, astounded, amazed, a few other descriptive verbs that won’t come to mind! You know what I mean. 🙂
Ooh, Orchid just went to get a triangle cheese slice. CAN I HAVE SOME?! (I wish.)
