Flowers Galore

While I was randomly going through the photo archives again (well, random by my standards anyway 😉 ), I spotted this tiny collection of pics I’d snapped at one of the grocery stores we stopped to shop at. Lo and behold, the flowers right behind me were… Orchids!

They’re a little bit hard to see, but hopefully you can glimpse the beautiful detail of all the different hues, from petal to stem. That’s what I love about orchids: how many different kinds there are, and how they all blend so well together. The ones that have the most gorgeous little speckled details are my absolute favorites.

Sometimes I feel just like them… sealed up and waiting to subside. But then a deep breath, tons of positive thinking, and a family hug always banish any and all feelings of uncertainty. Because we travel so much, I guess I should really welcome spontaneity as a virtue, not something to constantly worry about. But anyway, enough ranting on my part. 🙂

There were lots of other flowers, too, waiting to be taken home and bring happiness to someone special:

And now, this post wouldn’t be complete without a photo of the lovely, clear blue sky outside, would it? 😉

Tomorrow marks the start of this year’s Festival of the Arts. The next few days will be hectic upon hectic, navigating crowds, maintaining sanity, and above all, finding some spare time to blog. I really hope the weather will hold out tomorrow… at least until after Children and Youth Day takes place.

Stay tuned for more photo-filled posts, as my cameras once again fill up with loads of new adventures to share. Until then!~
