Now that some ‘free time’ has opened up in the Crochet Buddies home, it’s time to start introducing more of the cherished (but not forgotten) members of the Doll Family… starting with Hearts 4 Hearts Zelia!
Zelia joined the family in 2016. I made her wardrobe a long time ago, but lately she hasn’t had much attention. So I’ve resolved to make more outfits and accessories for her, and dolls her size.
These photos were taken earlier in the season, when it was much warmer, and the leaves were still on the trees.
When I told Zelia I’d be featuring her in an upcoming post, she took the opportunity to show everyone the creek that runs through the backyard.
“See, over there? There are trout living in the creek… they love swimming around when the creek is high.”
“It’s lovely out here. There’s so much shade, and it isn’t too sunny.” (Well, that was before the leaves started falling!)
Zelia also wanted me to take a picture of the creek by itself, to show how far it goes on the one side:
Zelia asked if she could stand in the creek without getting swept away. I told her she probably could, if she was a human… but being a doll, it wouldn’t work as well. “Alright,” she said, reluctantly. “I won’t try it.”
We paused for a moment to listen to the birds chirping high up in the trees, before Zelia resumed her tour.
“I’m standing on the foot bridge that leads to the summer cottage.”
“Do you see the building on the other side of this bridge? That’s the cottage. So whenever us dolls get fed up of being indoors, we go there and hang out with the squirrels.” (She’s joking… I hope.)
“I like it here. I really like it here.”
So do I, Zelia.
We then left the bridge and went to look at the other side of the creek.
The sun had come out, and Zelia was right in its path. “Time to soak up some Vitamin D,” she said (even though she didn’t really need it 😉 ).
“You know, this would be the perfect place for a fairy garden.”
Oh dear… don’t say that too loudly, Zelia, or I won’t hear the end of it from the fairies! They’ve been wanting one for ages.
“Well, it’s time they got one, don’t you think?”
Easier said than done….
“Alright, alright. I’ll get to work on it.”
“Good.”
Before going inside, Zelia visited with the flowers, making sure they were sufficiently nourished. “You must take good care of these, Orchid. They’re very pretty, and we don’t want them to freeze, now do we?”
Yes, Zelia.
Zelia enjoyed her time outside. However, the next time she wanted to venture out, most of the leaves had fallen, and the temperatures had plunged. She doesn’t have anything warm to wear (except the jacket she came with, and a few t-shirts), so she’s waiting until I finish making her a winter outfit.
More of the Doll Family will be featured soon — once I get them together for photos. 🙂
