Crochet Starfish – Free Pattern

Crochet starfish are the ideal gift, accessory, decoration and multi-purpose craft project. At the beginner level, they are among the easiest items to crochet, with plenty of yarn left for other projects. I originally designed the starfish while experimenting with different styles and techniques for the Crochet Coral Reef Project. What I love about this pattern is how the ends of the limbs naturally curl, creating a very lifelike effect. The symmetry is also very aesthetic and easy on the eye. (Different crochet tension and yarn create different curling effects, so try adjusting one or both for various results!)
