CB Store Update: Outfit Sets For Mini Dolls

Happy Thursday, all! Today I have a very special outfit for sale, to start off a brand new series of products!

After lots of consideration, I’ve decided to sell outfit sets for mini dolls. Each set is a package of 3 handmade items. Also, there will subsequently be similar outfits and accessories for the larger 18″ dolls… this was first kind of an experiment to see if the patterns would work. I’m delighted to say they do work, most incredibly, so your doll can now have a handmade OOAK outfit set! 🙂

Currently I have this first option available. This particular set features a dress, bonnet and handbag:

I’ll refrain from calling it a Little Bo Peep outfit, although it does look quite similar! (Not intentionally, of course.) At the very least, something historical, perhaps?

Let’s look at each item individually. First, the handbag:

The base of the bag is knitted, and the strap crocheted. If you prefer, I can make a similar bag in the same color with a longer strap, for a variety of fashions.

Yes, it does open, and you can put things inside it!

Now moving on to the bonnet, or sun hat (it functions as both):

This was actually meant to be a wide-brim hat. However, it turned out a little too flat to be a regular wide-brim. So, instead of scrapping the pattern, I decided to turn it into a bonnet/sun hat, by simply tightening the sides with yarn to tie under the chin. This version is crocheted.

Here’s the inside view:

And a side view:

It kind of resembles a tortoise shell, doesn’t it? 🙂

The cool thing is, it doesn’t require a lot of work to put this on the doll. Rather than retying the ribbon each time, you can simply slide it on and off, like so:

And there you go! Your doll can be perfectly shaded from the sun.

To complete this set, let’s take a closer look at the dress:

The dress is 100% crocheted, with lining on the edges of the dress, including the collar, and closes in the back with 3 buttons. If you prefer an even fancier version, I can add some picot edging at the hem, and possibly the sleeves.

A couple pics of the finished outfit:

All these items are available separately, on the Products For Sale page.

If you’d like a special commission for one of these outfit sets, please comment below, or send a request through the Contact Form on the main page of the site. I’d be more than happy to answer any and all questions.

That’s it for now! More OOAK outfits coming soon!~
