I’ve been going through some of last year’s photos, and realize how many haven’t yet been shared on this blog; including a few Craftventures. So without further ado (and before I forget again), you are about to discover… *puts on dramatic narrator-newscaster voice*… never-before-seen footage of Craftventuring, during various outings over the summer! 🌻 Episode 2 in particular has a lot of photos, so I’ve categorized it into three parts, and will share them with you throughout the week.
Today’s post features human-sized props and accessories, as well as garden miniatures and some crochet supplies.
It was one of those days where Mom and I felt like going on an adventure. I don’t remember which craft store this was, but you may recognize it (and if you do, please leave a comment below!).
The first thing we saw when we went in was this:
There were all sorts of cool accessories and props. A few had a “rustic” or “aged” quality. From a practical standpoint, these are more for decorative purposes… but they were cool to look at and be inspired by all the same.
(If only the wheels on this bike really worked…)
Next we went to look for miniature props. If I recall correctly, this particular store has two isles just for garden miniatures, as well as seasonal accessories, depending on the time of year. It was kind of interesting to see some of the isles completely empty:
Maybe they were making room for new inventory. At any rate, we found the miniatures an isle away:
The really tiny minis were in between fairy houses and “classic” tiny houses… the fairy homes looked very inviting (though I suppose only a fairy could determine that):
There were a lot of “beach-themed” minis as well, including seahorses and a ukulele:
Returning to the garden minis, I found this really cool dragon that did go home with us:
This little fairy looked deep in thought, while pondering something far off. It’s cool how expressions such as these inspire stories of their own… I can see a whole world come to life by observing this character.
Then there were the knitting and crochet supplies… how can one not feel motivated to go and make something after looking at all the possibilities here? sigh
Overall, it was a totally fun experience — but wait, there’s more! Stay tuned for Part 2 on Wednesday!
What have YOU found during your Craftventures? 🙂
