Greetings, folks! How are you all doing this lovely sweltering afternoon? 🙂
I have a few updates to share today. As you may already know, I’ve had plans to open the online store for awhile now. Earlier in the year it just wasn’t possible, due to studies and numerous other things. That being said, with more time to design and crochet now, I’ve gone back to making at least one item per day. Now, finally, the first items for the store are almost ready! 🎉 (When they are up, they’ll be on the Products for Sale page.)
What does all this have to do with the title, you may ask? Well, an unexpected turn of events led to bringing home a new friend yesterday. Her name is Wren, and she’ll be our first model for available products in the store! The other mini and regular-sized dolls in the family are currently put away, so to speed up the process of making doll clothes for sale, we chanced upon a group of Our Generation mini dolls and decided to get one to start modeling the items. And here she is!
Wren is an Our Generation Lana mini doll, measuring 6″ in height. She’s roughly the same size as most popular mini dolls out there, so she’ll be a great model for all future crochet mini doll products.
Review-wise, she has a vinyl head and limbs, and a cloth body. Her hair is rooted and silky soft. She can be posed very easily, and at $9.99 is absolutely worth the price. Wren’s outfit is decent, but she won’t be staying in it very long, as I have plans for her wardrobe. 😉
What I love about Wren is the vividness of her eyes. The photos don’t really capture it, but in real life her eyes are very detailed, lifelike and reflective. (And they’re green! Which I think is pretty unique in comparison with other OG minis.) Oh, and better still, they’re inset. So it looks as though she’s peering into your soul. hehe
Wren without her jacket and boots:
What do you think of Wren? Isn’t she lovely?
At some point, I may persuade her to start writing her own posts for the blog. We’ll see how that goes. 🙂
As a final update, last night I finished crocheting Wren’s first handmade outfit, a nightgown and wide brim hat. I’ll be posting photos of those tomorrow. Stay tuned!~
