Someone is going to be a very happy customer soon.
I made another bobble hat for Ruby! This one has a pom-pom, to add some “extra creative flair.” 🙂 I wasn’t happy with how far the stitches stretched for the first hat, and the second one was a bit snug. So I tried again and the third hat was just perfect!
Similar to the second hat, I used two strands of yarn combined for twice the thickness, to make the stitches fit better and less stretched out. With Mom politely reminding me to use up the yarn I already had — as per my own advice in a previous post — I pulled out some multicolored, thick acrylic yarn and twined it with some thinner cotton 4ply. This time I made sure to knit more loosely, because Ruby’s head circumference (hair volume included) is almost that of the loom.
Knitting loosely worked really well… for the first few rounds. Then I kind of reverted back to my tighter knitting tension for the remainder of the hat. Overall, though, the bobble creation turned out stretchier and just as cool as its predecessors.
What do YOU think of Ruby’s new loom knit bobble hats? 🙂
