Yes, you can believe your eyes, I, the Olive has actually crocheted. I am as shocked as you are.
Yes yes I know this site is all about crocheting (as demonstrated by the title of the site) but I’ve never actually crocheted before. I own yarn, a beginning crochet kit, and sewing supplies. I just never used them. I’ve never worked with a pattern. The most I’ve ever made is an accidental coffee coaster. (I was practicing a simple stitch and it became completely round, so I just went with it and sewed it together).
But THIS. I made an amigurumi. With a pattern. With a multitude of stitches I had no idea how to do (thank you YouTube).
So without further suspense – the project:
Introducing: Veve (name courtesy of a back and forth between Orchid and me XD )
I bought an amigurumi caactus kit from Barnes and Nobel when we were in Palm Springs. I made the red cactus, then the green cactus, then the pot while we were there, but I got stuck making the dirt. I put off finishing for a couple weeks but i was inspired by an acquaintance who created crochet Pokemon (which are ama-zing by the by) and so I put my mind it – and 2 harried hours later I completely finished it! I’m so proud, and I can’t wait to start on the next project!
I haven’t decided what I want to do yet, so what do you think I should crochet next?
