Greeting all, tis Olive again, back from the land of – not writing to tell what I did when it was still 2018.
Over the holidays, my family and I took the first vacation we’ve had in 20 years (so basically before I was born XD) and we decided on going to Palm Springs!
We spent 10 days there, and it was beautiful there. The scenery was amazing, the weather was balmy, it was absolutely lovely.
So without further ado – let’s get into photos!
Of course, we have to start with plane photos:
One thing I’ve consistently loved about palm springs is the mountain range. Our mountains in Banff are always covered in snow, so it was awe-inspiring to see mountains in the midst of a desert. But, regardless of the difference in climate, Palm Springs (and its neighboring Palm Desert, where we stayed) are desert sister cities to our Banff and Canmore, it was really quite cool.
Once we landed, I got to see yet another new thing – an open air airport. A true indication that you’ve arrived in a warm place. (Can you imagine Canada – really any time of the year – having an open air airport?)
But, I got the most amazing lighting at the airport. They have palm trees planted, and it was sunset – and the combination was spectacular.
Cut to the next morning, out of the balcony looking out over a green green golf course.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a bright green with a pure blue together like that.
With such great weather, we have to take pictures with the traveling gang, right?
The two I brought with me to Palm Springs were Fuwa-rin – the globetrotting ram, and Box-kun.

Okay okay, now box-kun has to get some screentime too. But we have to get some group shots too!
Oh my goodness you two are just too cute together.
As we get into the evening, i was able to snap some good road and sky pictures, because that evening was like a painting.
and back at the hotel…
And so concludes day 1 of Palm Springs!
Stay tuned for the next episode when I went on a Desert tour … which didn’t go to plan!
Thank you all for reading! Here’s a bonus roadrunner:
Until next time!
ps. Something I neglected to mention in my last news post is that I’ve set up my own creative writing blog to display my poetry and prose that I’ve written in more recent times. It also has a more extensive bio of yours truly on there and some artwork I’ve created as well!
