Hi everyone. It’s Orchid. I’ve been away for a while, and now it’s time to get back to writing and sharing insights. Everything has become so busy, and I’d like to explain why, and keep you all up to date on what’s been going on, in and outside the realm of crafts.
It’s been a very busy season (I know I keep saying that, but it seems to get even busier each time). One of my top Near Year’s Resolutions for this year is to improve time management and focus on the most important tasks (i.e., academic work) that need to be done. I’ve been able to stay on track and even a little ahead of schedule so far, which feels great and immensely rewarding. What it also means, though, is that I haven’t been on here at all since the start of the year.
To those who have been coming to Crochet Buddies, and who might be wondering when a new project, pattern or insight will be up, please know that I fully intend to keep this going. The main factor right now is time, and workload.
What I’ve decided to do is focus more on writing Tips & Advice (T&As) for the next few weeks, and see how it goes from there. I really enjoy sharing advice, and right now words flow easily (and much faster than crochet stitches!). As far as actual crocheting goes, I have managed to complete a few new projects, which I will share later on.
I did have a little ‘epiphany’ recently. I’d intended to keep Crochet Buddies strictly craft-related, but as the months go by, I’ve realized that this, despite being centered around crafts, this can be whatever I want it to be. What makes a blog special is partly the content, partly the person (or people) behind it.
Looking back at the previous blog posts, I’ve realized that they mostly sounded generic. Each post should have a story, and a purpose, and it feels as though that’s been pushed aside. Part of the reason I haven’t been on here as much is because I got fed up with my own writing, and how the content has been coming out in a standard way — not at all creative. Henceforth, that’s going to change.
I will be checking back every few days for comments, questions, and insights from anyone who would like to correspond and share their thoughts. Remember that Crochet Buddies is a community, and is meant for crafters of all ages to come together and share ideas, projects, and much more.
We shall see what’s ahead in the coming months. In the meantime, I wish you all a wonderful, warm and woolly craft season. 🙂
