EXCITEMENT IS IN THE AIR, PEOPLE!!!

This week’s AwtB post will be coming later today, but first we thought it best to share some mega-awesome news. You ready? 😀
I had finished making a little skirt a couple weeks ago, but schedules, weather and Wren’s cooperation didn’t work out. Something just wasn’t perfect on the day itself. So I waited, and at long last the lighting was impeccable, Wren wasn’t fussing politely telling me to stop bothering her, and we’d found the perfect place to photograph. All on the same day!
The skirt’s 100% designed and crocheted (and photographed) by me. I’ve been using acrylic yarn to make this and other items, for purposes of trying out new patterns. However, if someone has a special request for me to make an item using cotton or wool, I can do that as well. (It’ll just be a bit more expensive, which is why I’m sticking to acrylic for now, to keep everything affordable.)

This is still the prototype, mind. The version for sale will have a button in the back right at the top, for ease of wear; especially making it easier for younger kids and their dolls. (I was apprehensive at first about adding a button because of its size and not-so-relative proportion. However, it’s much harder to get the skirt on and off without a button, or an opening at the top. So a button there shall be. 🙂 )
The skirt itself will be available in more colors as well, very soon.
Once the larger dolls in the family come back out (from their very long hibernation), I’ll be able to make similar skirts for them as well! So if you have a doll closer to 18″ tall and would like something for her instead of for a mini, that can be done!!
