Greetings, friends! We have some very exciting news to share today. First of all, we, the Crochet Buddies family, hope you all had a lovely and peaceful Memorial Day.
It has been raining here the last few days. The biggest downpour was on Memorial Day itself. It really felt as though the sky was crying in memory of those whose lives were lost protecting our country.
This event makes this post really special. We’d been hoping to share this update once another of these items was made (in a different color), but that item wasn’t finished until this afternoon, and the lighting outside and inside is still very dreary, so there won’t be any photographing today. In the meantime, here is the first Crochet Buddies OOAK (one of a kind) handmade accessory for mini dolls, handmade by Orchid:
The base of the sleeping bag/carry case is knitted, while the flap/head rest/pillow and handle are crocheted. (The / indicates that this item in and of itself has many functions.) The entire item is machine-washable. Overall, this should be able to fit mini dolls from AG, OG, Lori, Götz and other dolls of similar height. There is plenty of room inside the bag, and the spaces between stitches allow the fabric to breathe.
Our little model for this sleeping bag/carry case is Caoimhe, a 6″ (15 cm) Lori doll.
The reason this is one of a kind is mainly because the pattern, and likely the materials, may vary as new products and ‘editions’ are added to the selection. Which isn’t to say one will be better than another. This is just to let you know that most crochet yarn selections may vary depending on color availability in local craft stores. So, if you like a particular color or style, please let me know as soon as you can! 🙂
There may be an option for custom embroidery up soon. That being said, the price will go up from $25 to $28, because of the time and uniqueness of each design. For now, though, that won’t be an additional option yet.
