I have attempted to edge my first panel of seven squares. I ran into all kinds of problems. Lengthwise all squares have ten loops. Across either end I wound up doing twelve loops. I am wondering if I should go ahead with another panel of seven squares. Will I be able to join the five panels of seven squares together? I posted a video of what I have so far on my blog. iweararedhat.blogspot.com

Hi Lucie,

I hope this reply isn't too delayed. Just read on your blog that you had pulled apart the blanket panels. I'm sorry for not replying sooner... usually I get notifications when there is a new forum post or blog comment, but this time it didn't come through. In answer to your question, I think the panels could be joined, and it would look fine regardless of the number of loops... though it will differ depending on the project.

That said, instead of being frustrated, be immensely proud of what you've accomplished. For someone who hasn't crocheted in a long while, you've picked it up tremendously! The beanie you made is adorable! Going from experience, I get somewhat intimidated by bigger projects, and wouldn't have had the patience to crochet half of what you've made in the same amount of time.

Hope this helps! If you have any further crochet questions, please feel free to ask! I'll be checking back every day or couple of days to make sure I don't miss anymore posts. Can't wait to see your crochet booties! I'm sure they will look fantastic. 🙂
